Bonnie will be leading a Denali Explorer Alaskan Tour at towards the end of August and beginning of September to cap off an exciting summer of trips and guided tours. Our tour actually starts in Canada on August 22 in Vancouver, BC. We’ll stop at some of the major sightseeing destinations before checking into our hotel where we’ll stay for the next two nights. You’ll have plenty of time to relax, dine on your own and explore one of North America’s most adventurous and beautiful cities.
From there, we head over to Victoria Island on a ferry and explore the city of Victoria. On the 24th, we’ll depart the pier for our Denali Explorer Alaskan Cruise. For eleven nights, we’ll journey through Alaska on board the Princess Sapphire.
Alaska has the largest coastline of the states, so there is plenty of beautiful landscapes and scenery to view from on board the ship. We’ll also be stopping in Juneau, the capital city, Whittier, Mt. McKinley, Skagway and Ketchikan. One of the major stops along Cruise is the Denali National Park. The park is home to Mount McKinley, the highest mountain in North America. Today, the park hosts more than 400,000 visitors who enjoy wildlife viewing, mountaineering, and backpacking. We’ll take a Natural History Tour in the morning and during the afternoon you can choose from a variety of optional excursions or just relax at the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge.
On the final days of the tour, you’ll head to Fairbanks. Fairbanks is the largest city in the Interior region of the state, and second largest in the state, only
behind Anchorage. You’ll have the morning to relax, then travel by scenic motor coach to Fairbanks. That evening, take a Riverboat Cruise down the Chena River where the tour will end.
