5. What’s included in a crewed yacht charter?
In the Caribbean, your crewed charter is all-inclusive, making it a good value. All your food, drinks & water sports such as snorkeling, fishing and kayaking are included. Many yachts include scuba diving. Your vacation is totally personalized for you.

6. Can I learn to Scuba Dive on my charter?
Yes, you can. All boats either offer scuba diving or what they call rendezvous diving whereby they arrange for the diving. Some of our boats offer free scuba diving for certified divers or charge a nominal fee. To become PADI certified there would be a fee. It is recommended you do your pool & book work locally and then do your open water dives in the crystal-clear water of the Caribbean.

7. When is the best time to charter a yacht in the Caribbean?
The sailing season in the Virgin Islands and in the other Leeward Islands runs from November to mid-July. You will want to avoid the hurricane season, which is typically August, September & October. Many of the yachts that we offer go south during the hurricane season to the Windward Islands and offer charters in the Grenadines.

8. How far in advance should I book my yacht charter?
For peak season (December – April), it’s best to book at least 12 months in advance. Off-season charters may allow for more flexibility, but early booking secures the best selection.

9. Are yacht charters family-friendly?
Absolutely. Most of Blue Horizon’s charters are well-suited for families with children, offering spacious cabins and flexible itineraries ideal for all ages. Children should be at least 6 years old or be accompanied by a Nanny for safety reasons. Some of our boats offer discounts for children under 12.

10. What should I pack for a yacht vacation?
Pack light, breathable clothing, swimsuits, sunscreen, water shoes, and personal toiletries. Beach towels will be provided.

11. Can special diets be accommodated?
Yes, most definitely. Your group will fill out a food preference sheet before the charter with their likes, dislikes, food allergies, etc. Most special diets such as Vegan, Diabetic or Gluten Free can be accommodated with the exception of Kosher.

12. Is travel insurance recommended for yacht charters?
Yes, travel insurance is highly recommended to cover cancellations, medical emergencies, and unexpected travel delays.

13. Can I customize my itinerary on a crewed charter?
Definitely! Crewed charters are highly flexible, allowing you to plan stops and activities to match your preferences. With the help of your captain, you will plan each day. Your itinerary is totally customized for you. Be as active or as inactive as you choose to be.
